A most amazing feat of nature and woodworking, here is an African Bubinga wooden Dining Room table that measures approximately 50 inches wide by 12 feet long. Solid. One piece. Yes, you read that right! It’s the most stunning single panel of wood we’ve ever seen.

Richly burled and naturally colored (there is no staining in the finishing of this piece of furniture–only varnish), the table’s graining changes as you walk around it. Experiencing the sight of this wood is like seeing a waterfall ripple in red and yellow hues. No kidding!
So who’s table is this? It belongs to Kim and Rocky Mehta, owners of West Penn Hardwoods. This lovely couple invited us to see it when they learned we were decorative painters who specialize in woodgraining. The Bubinga table is crafted to maximize its inherent beauty, featuring the core trunk as well as outer bark sections, and its naturally undulating bark edges.
Could we woodgrain something to match this magnificence? Sure, we could Faux Bois Bubinga! And it would be beautifully eye-catching, for sure. BUT, let’s just say, hats off to Mother Nature for creating the inimitable unfurling and rippling waterfall effect of this African rosewood!

Can I order an 8-9’ Bubinga table from you ?
Hi Frank, we would suggest you contact Rocky at West Penn Hardwoods. Tell them you saw this post and what you are looking for! I’m sure they will be able to assist you.
