As decorative artists, we usually create painted finishes at a residence well before its interior design is finished by the interior designer. Often, we don’t get to see the completed beautiful décors. Ah, but not this time! Here is a sneak peek video tour of Tommy and Dee Hilfiger’s Plaza Hotel Penthouse apartment in New York City, presented by Architectural Digest, and hosted by the Hilfigers themselves. Click on each image. You will see rooms for which we created decorative painting and gilded finishes, such as:
The Dining Room glazed walls inspired by Chinese lacquerware, with 23K gold leafed tray ceiling, and stenciled dado

The adjoining Butler Pantry with same red glazed wall treatment

The Kitchen for which we created a glazed metallic finish to complement its French bistro style décor

The Master Staircase for which we gilded all medallions

The Master Bedroom headboard canopy for which we created an antiqued gilt finish

The Kid’s Bedroom cabinetry with painted details and lining by us, for their young son Sebastien

The Guest Bedroom cabinetry also with painted details and lining

The Girl’s Bedroom Hallway features our painted floor in diamond checkerboard pattern, which continues into the Bedroom

The Girl’s Bedroom painted floor in diamond checkerboard pattern, seen here when Dee Hilfiger points up to a painting by Tommy’s daughter

The Tea Room, for which we painted faux stone on the windows to match the mural by Hilary Knight, illustrator of the famous Eloise book series that was set in the Plaza.

This room is actually a turret featuring a domed ceiling for which we did gilded details

Here is a better view of the domed ceiling showing the gilded detailing we did.

Whew, now that was quite a sneak peek into Tommy and Dee Hilfiger’s Plaza Hotel Penthouse duplex apartment!
