How We Work

At Christianson Lee Studios, our aim is to develop and produce beautiful decorative finishes for our clients, to help them realize their interior design vision. From start to finish, we provide expertise and talented artisans to create your perfect home or business environment. Whether the goal is a traditional or contemporary décor, we serve efficiently and professionally to meet a project’s timeline and budget.

Consultation

A project usually begins with a free initial consultation by phone or email. We are pleased to discuss the nature and scope of your project to help you evaluate your decorative painting needs.

With our extensive experience and knowledge, we can assess the scope of your project and provide decorative painting, design, and technical advice.

If available, we request architectural drawings and elevations in order to provide an accurate estimate. An appointment may be made to meet onsite. At meetings we provide existing samples from our collection of decorative finishes which complement your creative intentions. We may offer color and design suggestions based on your artistic goals.

Creating Samples

Because every project is unique, we create custom decorative painting samples for you. This occurs following initial consultation, meeting, and/or receipt of commission. At this stage, we work with examples from your décor such as fabrics, carpeting, tiles, color specs, and other references which you provide. Depending on the nature of the project, samples may include sketches, digital renderings, faux painting on canvas or board, and in some cases, the actual material on which the design will be executed, such as floorboards for a painted floor.

Commissions

For commissions, we require a 50% deposit and a signed written estimate. Upon receipt, we schedule your project for production. During the whole process from initial discussion to finished results, we work in close communication with interior designers, decorators, architects, and other trades to ensure mutual understanding of aesthetic and practical goals. Once final samples are approved, and onsite or studio work begins, project management includes ensuring proper preparation of surfaces, identifying potential challenges, accommodating schedules and meeting deadlines, etc. We recognize that efficient management is essential for the successful completion of every decorative painting project.
